NFT Tier Upgrading
NFT upgrades are now LIVE on our platform. If you’ve got enough Core or Gold editions to upgrade to the next tier, head on over to your collection and click that big old Upgrade button to get started.
Depending on the NFT, you will need different numbers of Cores to upgrade to a Golds, and different numbers of Golds to upgrade to a Chroma. These stats can be found on the NFT page itself, in the description. You’ll also be able to see the starting Gold and Chroma Staminas for that NFT.
The Gold & Chroma staminas dictate how long a given card can be staked for in the NFT staking pool once these are live. Chromas will earn from their own dedicated reward segment — and the low number of these that will be in circulation likely means that staking these will be very lucrative indeed. How these numbers translate to time will be revealed when the NFT staking pool launches in the near future.
JawDane 3D & Rainicorn Evolved
As previously announced, our next NFT drop will consist of several stellar pieces, right from the hands of the enormously talented Jawdane3D.
While we were planning on launching the drop this week, this would have meant holding back a couple of the more exciting pieces for later, as some of our more advanced contract features were not quite ready for primetime. Instead, after some internal deliberation resulting in the expediting of our development work coupled with bumping this drop to next week, we’re excited to announce that this drop will include the Raini platform’s first evolving NFTs!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this means you will be able to spend your hard-earned rainbows and unicorns redeeming some very unique NFTs. We will be populating the platform within the next couple of days and adding a countdown timer to the drop — we’ll announce across all the usual channeles when this is live.
What do these evolving pieces do you might ask? Well….
The Four Seasons
First-off we have an homage to the Raini platform, an animated piece that Jawdane3D has dubbed Seasons in the Everglades. This work will change throughout the year, depending on the season. The core edition of this will be hard-coded to one hemisphere — the Southern, as our cofounders are Australian, so you get to experience the seasons Raini style! You’ll get a choice if you upgrade to Golden or Chromatic as to whether you want these upgraded pieces to be tied to the Northern or Southern hemisphere.
Beauty in Decay
In due time, entropy will take hold, and the inevitable heat death of the universe will be upon us.
We’re not looking quite that far into the future, but nevertheless — this special NFT is one that shall age based on how long you’ve held it.
Meet Evanah. Key to the ageing process for this piece is that you can only age it an increment if you hold it for at least X days (TBA with the final drop metrics). Each ageing increment is locked when you reach it. If you transfer or sell it to another wallet during the ageing increment, it resets to the nearest locked increment.
Effectively this means that if you hold a piece and don’t sell or transfer it, you will be rewarded with a piece that should have aged more than that of everyone else who did.
One little piece to this whole puzzle, however, is that the Core editions of this NFT will not age — they are forever young. The reason for this is that the Cores are not unique numbered NFTs ; if we did it this way our OpenSea store would be flooded with these Core editions. Therefore, only the Goldens and Chromatic versions will be able to age.
As we want to ensure our community have a decent chance of obtaining an ageing NFT, this drop will allow for 300 Core editions to be minted, and have a requirement of 10 Cores to upgrade to a Golden. That means there will be 30 Goldens up for grabs, and of course 1 Chromatic, should you manage to amass 16 Goldens.
Raini TCG Tidbit
While we know we’ve been a little quiet on this front, rest assured that a lot has been going on behind the scenes. We’re really excited to share what we’ve been working on and can announce that we are in the final stages of prepping our first set of card pack drops, along with a whole lot more about the narrative and gameplay.
