Unveiling Raini: The Lords of Light Player Rewards Program — Collect, Play, and Win!

--

Welcome, TCG Enthusiasts! As we stand on the brink of an exciting new Season, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of our brand new player rewards program for RTLOL, kicking off with the commencement of Season 2, starting on December 1st. Get ready to immerse yourself in a world where playing, collecting, and battling lead to fantastic monthly prizes. Let’s dive into the details!

You’ll need to be Hercules to hold all of these rewards!

All of our Player Rewards programs are calculated on a monthly basis, with rewards able to be claimed via the RTLOL Player Profile page. P&E and C&E kick off from the start of Season 2, with Leaderboard Rewards backdated to November 2023

Here we go!

Play and Earn (P&E)

Level Up Your Rewards by Playing

Starting from Season 2, we’re emphasising the joy of playing more. Every move you make, every strategy you employ, contributes to your rewards. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting, the more you play (with collectable cards), the more you earn. It’s that simple! So, how does that work?

it’s really that simple!

First, P&E rewards are based on Quick Match games that you play, with Collectable (On Chain) cards in your deck. Yes, that does mean that Host/Join games and Practice Games won’t count, but still leaves you plenty of opportunities to earn points! You don’t have to stick to just collectable cards in your decks, but they’re the ones that will be used to calculate rewards for you. P&E is a monthly system, so while it kicks off from the start of Season 2 (1st December), it’s based on the calendar month, so there will be rewards for December, January, February, March, April… you get the idea :)

As outlined in our Raininomics Medium, we’ve set aside 5% of the total $RST pool for P&E, to be distributed monthly over 5 years (60 months total). Thats 50 million $RST total, or 833,333 per calendar month.

That’s great, but how do I earn these rewards?

We’re glad you asked! Each Quick Match game you play, and complete, you’ll earn points based on the following criteria:

  • For each Collectable Card in your deck (via wallet(s) connected on the RTLOL Player Profile page), you earn base points based on card rarity, as follows:

Common — 1
Uncommon — 2
Rare — 10
Legendary — 20
Mythic — 100

  • Then if you win the game, we multiply your base points by 5. This rewards you for playing well but allows less skilled (or unlucky) players to earn rewards via P&E. This gives us your final game point total, let's do a simple example below before we continue:

Steve plays a Quick Match with his favourite red deck, which contains a collectable version of Lust (legendary) and two copies of Chastity (rare). Despite playing a broken combo, he loses to Fiona’s Blue Theme Deck in a tragic upset. Steve’s base points for this match were 40 (20+10+10), and unfortunately, as he didn’t win, he didn’t earn the multiplier (which would have given him 200 points total). If Steve wanted to earn more points per game, he would need to add more collectable cards into this deck (or get good and start winning).

  • We track all of the games that are played during the calendar month, and add up all player's point totals in a zero-sum fashion. This means that a player's total points, as a percentage of the total points accumulated by all players in the month, will equate to the percentage of the rewards to be earned in that month. Let's do another example, based roughly on data captured during November 2023:

Loretta played hard during November, and through a combination of luck and skill, completed the Season 1 battle pass, while playing a combination of both Theme Decks and their own decks which contained Collectable Cards. While the Theme Decks don’t grant any points, Loretta managed in particular to have a healthy win rate with decks containing Collectable Mythic and Legendary cards, ending the month with 690,420 points. In November, the total P&E point pool was 5,146,287, meaning that Loretta earned approx 13.42% of P&E points, and is able to claim their share of the reward pool, being 111,799 $RST.

  • Players must earn a minimum of 200 base points during the calendar month to qualify for P&E rewards. Players who do not meet this threshold will not have their points counted towards the total P&E point pool. Players must have a primary wallet selected on the RTLOL Player Profile page to be able to claim rewards.
Raini Studios reserves the right to disqualify players from all reward programs in the event of cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, deliberate attempts to manipulate the results of the rewards program in any way, or any other violation of the RTLOL TOS/EULA.
It’s even easier than this to Play and Earn rewards!

Collect and Earn (C&E)

Level Up Your Rewards by Collecting

Dive into the world of Collectable Packs and Cards with Raini: The Lords of Light. Your card collection is now more valuable than ever. Complete sets, unlock rare cards and predict the meta to supercharge your rewards. The more comprehensive your collection, the greater your earning potential.

Discover new cards, explore unique themes, and strategize with the ever-expanding array of cards available. Whether you’re a completionist or a collector of the rarest cards, Season 2 is your time to shine.

Again, As outlined in our Raininomics Medium, we’ve set aside 5% of the total $RST pool for C&E, to be distributed monthly over 5 years (60 months total). Thats 50 million $RST total, or 833,333 per calendar month.

Lets go over the deets!

Ok, to quality for C&E, players simply need to connect their wallet(s) on the RTLOL Player Profile page. Our web3 wizards will then read the cards you own (or have staked) from there, even if you choose to trade them during the month! Seriously, could this BE any easier?

We miss you Matt ❤

As with P&E, we calculate every collector's points over a calendar month, using a zero-sum system to calculate your rewards. However, unlike P&E, the actual method of earning points is a little different, so let's break it down.

  • For each Collectable Card in your collection (via wallet(s) connected on the RTLOL Player Profile page), you earn base points based on card rarity, as follows:

Common — 1
Uncommon — 2
Rare — 10
Legendary — 20
Mythic — 100

This value is multiplied by the total duration of the calendar month in which you owned the card, for example, if you owned a Chad Raini (Mythic) for half of the month, you’d earn 50 points for it.

Then, for each card, you earn an additional bonus based on the win rate of that card in Quick Match games in that calendar month. This win rate is calculated against both Soulbound and Collectable versions of the card, to represent a true win rate in the current metagame. This is to reward collectors who are able to predict the meta and work out which cards and strategies will be the most powerful within the game. The bonus is added to the calculated base points, so regardless of a specific card’s win rate, there will always be a base level of rewards available. Let us give an example!

Seb owns a copy of Quantum Rug, which he has held since before Season 2, and holds for the entirety of the month of December. During this month, he earns a base 100 points for card ownership, and as the card has a 65% win rate in Quick Match games, earns an additional 65 points (100 * 0.65), for a total of 165 points for this Quantum Rug.
If he decided to trade for another Quantum Rug halfway through the month, this second collectable card would earn him a total of 82.5 points.

  • We track all of the cards which are held in connected wallets during the calendar month, and add up all player’s point totals in a zero-sum fashion. This means that a player’s total points, as a percentage of the total points accumulated by all players in the month, will equate to the percentage of the rewards to be earned in that month. Let’s do another example, based roughly on data captured during November 2023:

Durga connected his wallet before the start of December and held a variety of Collectable Cards (which they also used in decks to earn P&E rewards!). With a combination of cards obtained from Rainbow and Unicorn packs from previous sets and Formations, Durga ended the month with 4,210 points. In November, the total C&E point pool was 83,200, meaning that Durga earned approx 5.06% of C&E points, and is able to claim their share of the reward pool, being 42,167 $RST.

  • Players must have a primary wallet selected on the RTLOL Player Profile page to be able to claim rewards.
Raini Studios reserves the right to disqualify players from all reward programs in the event of cheating, unsportsmanlike conduct, deliberate attempts to manipulate the results of the rewards program in any way, or any other violation of the RTLOL TOS/EULA.

Leaderboard / Play and Win

Compete for Glory and Rewards!

The competitive spirit is at the heart of Raini: The Lords of Light. Climb the leaderboards, challenge opponents, and stake your claim among the elite. Monthly prizes await those who prove their mettle on the battlegrounds.

We’ve refined the leaderboard system for Season 2 onwards, creating a more dynamic and competitive environment. The top players across the Eternal and Seasonal Leaderboards will not only earn bragging rights but also exclusive rewards that showcase their dominance in the Rainiverse!

How it feels to crack the top 20 on the Eternal Leaderboard (or so we’ve been told…)

Finally, As outlined in our Raininomics Medium, we’ve set aside 2.5% of the total $RST pool for Leaderboard Rewards, to be distributed monthly over 5 years (60 months total). Thats 25 million $RST total, or 416,666 per calendar month.

Let’s do this!

So first, the big difference between Leaderboard rewards and P&E/C&E, is there is no requirement to own, or play with Collectable Cards to compete. That means players who choose to play with Theme Decks, or enjoy RTLOL as a Free to Play experience are completely eligible! You will still need to set a Primary Wallet on the RTLOL Player Profile page to claim rewards, but that’s all you have to do*

*You know, besides playing Quick Match games and getting on the Leaderboards :)

For each leaderboard, a snapshot will be taken at the end of the calendar month, for rewards to be distributed. The Seasonal Leaderboard will receive 80% of the rewards (80% of 416,666 $RST — 333,332 $RST), while the Eternal Leaderboard will receive 20% of the rewards (20% of 416,666 $RST — 83,333 $RST)
Players are eligible for rewards based on both of these, depending on their placement on each leaderboard that month.

Both leaderboards will receive rewards for the top 60 players, based on the following distribution:

Let's give an example!

In December, Bernadette had a great start to Season 2, finishing the month in 9th place on the Seasonal Leaderboard. Having not played RTLOL as long as some other community members, this strong month was only enough to earn her 23rd on the Eternal Leaderboard. Her 9th place finish on the Seasonal Leaderboard earned her 9,999.96 $RST, while 23rd on the Eternal Leaderboard was worth 416.6 $RST.

When the Medium is so big, it’s EXTRA-MEDIUM!

So, that was A LOT of alpha we dropped right there, but just for fun, here’s some quick, tl;dr love for the peeps that just love to scroll right to the bottom anyway

  • Play and Earn, starts in December 2023. Play with Collectable Cards to earn rewards each calendar month.
  • Collect and Earn, starts in December 2023. Connect wallets with Collectable Cards via the RTLOL Player Profile to earn rewards based on ownership, and bonuses based on the performance of that card during that month across all Quick Match games.
  • Leaderboard/Play and Win rewards start in November 2023 (yes, this month’s rewards will be calculated via this system!). Rank up the Seasonal and Eternal Leaderboards to earn rewards each calendar month.

If you made it this far, go grab a coffee, you’ve earned it! We’re super excited to see all of our Player Rewards programs kick-off, and see how the new cards in Formations (and next year’s first major set, Evolutions!) enable new strategies and shake up the meta and the leaderboards!
